Grease fittings are used for lubricating assemblies and parts that need to be lubricated.Grease is injected into the lubricating area through a grease fitting. the function of which is to allow grease to flow into the lubricating area but not to allow the grease to come out. They function with equal efficiency, when used under a low pressure Hand Gun or under a high pressure Pneumatic Gun where the operating pressure could be as high as 6000 psi.
The function of a Relief Valve is the opposite of a grease fitting. A Relief Valve allows excess grease to flow out, but will not allow grease to enter the assembly or lubricating area. Relief Valves operate at specified pressures depending on thier application & location. A range of Relief Valves is available for different pressures. Also available are Air breathers which are similar to Relief Valves, except that they release air instead of grease under excess pressure. Grease Cups are used instead of grease fittings, to provide a constant feed of grease to an assembly of parts.
